Látom sokaknak van problémája a játékkal. Nekem is volt, kidobott mindig desktopra akármit csináltam. Utánanéztem, és íme az eredmény:

Problem: The following message is received when trying to run the game: "Your graphics card does not meet the minimum specification for this game".
Solution: You must ensure that you have one of the supported graphics cards, as listed on the box and in the readme file. If you do have one of the listed cards, then it may be that some DirectX features have been disabled.

Run DxDiag.exe, by clicking on the Windows Start Button, selecting Run and entering "Dxdiag" in the open box.

Now click on the Display tab. In the centre of the screen there is a section called DirectX features. Below there, you should have Direct3D and Direct Draw 'Acceleration Enabled'. If it says 'Acceleration Disabled' click on the button called Enable. If it says No Acceleration Available, then make sure that your graphics hardware acceleration' is set to full and then enable both Direct Draw and Direct 3D acceleration.

If the problem persists and you do have a supported graphics card, ensure that you have the latest drivers for this card and that the DirectX tests complete without any problems.

Problem: The game crashes in the Championship mode, but runs without problems in the Stages mode.
Solution: You need to set Vsync (Vertical Sync) to "on" in your graphics card's Windows options. For ATI cards, this can be done in control panel - display - settings - advanced - Direct 3D. Change the setting to 'Always on'

For Nvidia-based cards, Vysnc should be on (or on auto) by default. If you are experiencing this problem, another application on your PC may have changed the Vysnc setting. To adjust your Vsync option you require a third party tweaking tool, such as Riva Tuner. This is available from http://download.guru3d.com/rivatuner/

To adjust your Vsync settings using Riva Tuner, do as follows:

1) Run Riva Tuner
2) From the 'main' tab click on the button to the right hand side of 'Customise'
3) Then select 'Customise Direct Draw and Direct 3D settings'
4) Click on the 'Vsync' tab
5) Now change the value to 'auto' or 'Always on'
6) Click on Apply and now run the game.

Problem: The game crashes during or after the opening videos, before the main menu is accessed.
Solution: This error is due to problems with your Windows video codecs. To solve this problem try the following:

1) Explore Disk 3 of Colin McRae Rally 3 and run the 'wmpcdcs8' and 'wmfdist' installation files, by double clicking on them.
2) If you have Cyberlink PowerDVD installed on your PC, you need to either uninstall this or rename the "claudfx.ax" file in the PowerDVD folder (to something like claudfx.old). This should not adversely affect PowerDVD, but you can always reverse the renaming procedure if this is the case.
3) If either of these steps do not solve the problem, try downloading and installing the latest version of Media player from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp.
4) If the problem remains you may have to edit your registry, as follows...

Click on 'Start' then 'Run..."
Type in Regedit and click 'Ok'
From the registry editor select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software - Codemasters - Colin McRae Rally 3
Now double click on the 'Movie Quality' key on the right hand side, change the value to 1 and press 'OK'

5) The following have also been reported by users as having solved this problem:

a) If you have Kazaa/Divx installed, with the TFM plug-in, these should also be uninstalled.
b) Downloading the ACE mega codecs pack: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/acemega_codec.html

Problem: The game crashes to the desktop when using the chase camera. The graphics card is either a GeForce 4MX or an nForce 2. Or the game crashes when loading a stage with any Nvidia card.
Solution: Downloading and installing the lastest (4403) nvidia drivers, from www.nvidia.com are known to solve this problem.

Problem: The game crashes when setting up a controller. The controller is a Microsoft Force Feedback wheel and the problem occurs when accessing the vibration settings screen.
Solution: Re-install DirectX 9, leaving the wheel attached.

Please note that if your wheel is a gameport wheel and your version of Windows is Windows XP, the above solution will not solve the problem, unfortunately. As a workaround, try disabling force feedback for your device in the properties for it under control panel - game controllers.

Problem: Road signs and the car in replays shows display black graphical glitches from a distance.
Solution: In the game's Advanced graphics settings, set Z DEPTH to 24. This will not be available with all video cards

Problem: At the end of installation on Windows 98 (first edition) the install halts and does not progress.
Solution: The game is not officially supported under Windows 98 first edition, however if you end the installation procedure manually (click on the close program icon at the top right hand corner) and install Windows Media Player 7.1 (this can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp), the game should now run properly.

Problem: With a Creative Soundblaster Audigy 1 card, when playing in surround sound, the engine sounds move from speaker to speakers..
Solution: This is a driver issue. Install the Beta update of the Audigy drivers found at http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/drivers/product.asp?bypass=1&category=2&os=9&driverlang=&prod=226&drivertype=1



Szóval nálam a PowerDVD-vel akadt a lelkem. Ez azért nem semmi. Érzékenyebb mint egy hímestojás.
Aki átböngészi,az érdekes kitételt találhat az ACE pack-kal kapcsolatban.
Maga a játék egy nagy csalódás, de azért játszogatok vele.
